Shurflo Water guard Filtration Kit Replacement Cartridge

• Replacement carbon filter to suit SHURFLO waterguard filter.
• Easily installed, the disposable quick change filter ensures you have pure water for longer.
• Shurflo recommends changing the filter every 6 – 12 months or when its capacity (1890l) has been reached, whichever comes first.

INSTALLATION

1. Install in a location convenient for filter replacement.
2. For cold water use only.
3. After prolonged periods of non-use it is recommended that the system be flushed thoroughly.
Let water run for 2-3 minutes before using.
4. The filter cartridge used with this system has a limited service life. Changes in taste, odor,
color, and/or flow of the water being filtered indicate that the cartridge should be replaced.
5. In-line filter life depends upon the water volume used and the substances present in the in the
water source. SHURflo recommends changing the filter every 6 to 12 months or when its
capacity expires, whichever comes first.

MOUNTING

Mounting the Filter System:
· Select a location where filter system is to be mounted. NOTE: Allow 1-1/2 inches [38 mm]
clearance below housing or 11 inches [279 mm] below filter head to enable filter cartridge
changes. CAUTION: Filter head should be mounted securely to a solid stud or surface. The
mounting bracket will support the weight of the filter and help prevent strain on the cold water
line.
· Filter head should be mounted in vertical position, use the mounting bracket as a template to
mark screw locations. Mount filter head in marked location using the screws provided in the
hardware kit. CAUTION: Cold water supply to the filter should have a separate shut-off valve.
If it does not, a separate shut-off should be installed.
Connecting the Tubing and fittings:
· Filter head is equipped with 3/8” quick connect fittings. Other fittings included are 1/2” NPTM x 3/8” NPT-F (2), 3/8” Stem x 3/8” NPT-M (2) and 3/8” Stem x 1/4” Quick Connect (1).
· Use the appropriate fittings for your installation.
· Connect tubing and make sure all connections are secure. Turn on water and check for leaks.
· Allow water to run approximately 2 to 3 minutes to flush and saturate filter.
· You are now ready to enjoy “Great Tasting Healthy Clean Water”
Replacing the Cartridge:
· To remove old cartridge, twist cartridge counter clockwise until unlock arrows on cartridge and bracket line up. Pull
down firmly to remove cartridge.
· To install new cartridge, line up arrows on cartridge and bracket. Push cartridge firmly into bracket and twist
clockwise until locking arrows line up.
